Tabekaro Privacy Policy

Tabekaro (the “App”) lets you log meals by writing a single line of text. The App is built so that what you write never leaves your device.

1. Everything stays on your device

The text you type, the food items recognised from it, the calorie and protein figures, and all of your history are stored only on your device. There is no account and no cloud sync. The text you write is never transmitted anywhere. Recognition is performed on-device by a built-in food dictionary and parser; no external AI service or analysis server is involved.

2. What we do collect

The only thing the App sends to us is anonymous usage events, used to understand whether the App is useful.

Usage data (product interaction)

The name and timestamp of events such as: app launched, onboarding step completed, purchase screen shown, purchase completed, a meal was saved. The contents of your meals are never included. When a word is not found in the dictionary we send only a count, never the word itself.

Identifier (anonymous ID)

A random UUID generated on your device. It is not derived from, and not linked to, your name, e-mail address, phone number, advertising identifier, IP-based profile or location. We do not collect any of those.

This data is not linked to your identity. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, we show no advertising, and we do not sell or share personal information (including as those terms are used under the California Consumer Privacy Act).

3. Legal basis and how long we keep it

Where the GDPR applies, we process the anonymous usage events on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in understanding and improving the App. Events are retained for 24 months and then deleted.

4. Where it is processed

Usage events are received and stored by Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare D1, which operate globally. Data may therefore be processed outside your country, including in the United States.

5. Your choices and rights

You can stop all collection at any time by turning off network access for the App or deleting it. Deleting the App also deletes every meal record stored on your device — export a CSV first if you want to keep it.

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your data. Because the identifier is random and holds no information about you, we need it to find your rows: the App shows your anonymous ID at the bottom of the Settings screen. Send it to support@tanirell.com and we will delete the matching events. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

6. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that age), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

7. Health information

Calorie and protein figures shown in the App are estimates based on typical standard portions. The App is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment or nutritional advice. It does not read from or write to Apple Health (HealthKit).
